Every team needs a great personality and in the Matildas there are plenty of those. One such player is defender Servet Uzunlar. The dichotomy of Uzunlar's personality is fascinating. Fun, playful, self-deprecating off the pitch yet intense, focused and self-critical on it.

Sport thrives on rivalries and Sydney v Brisbane is one of the most intense ones in Australia. Be it Rugby League, Rugby Union or A-League. In women's football, they have always been the biggest two states, providing the bulk of the national team. It has generally been a genial one but on Sunday that rivalry erupted.
It's finally here! After 12 weeks, 10 rounds, 35 games and 125 goals, we are down to the final four teams in the Westfield W-League; Canberra United, Brisbane Roar, Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory. This weekend the final four battle it out for the right to play in the 2012 Westfield W-League Grand Final.

Brisbane have secured a Westfield W-League home semi-final with a closely-contested 1-0 own-goal victory over Sydney at Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre.
With the Sky Blues requiring a victory to leapfr og the Roar and take hosting rights for next week's semi between the two, the rivals went chance for chance through an exciting 90 minutes, and could only be separated by Terasa Polias' deflection into her own net in the 32nd minute.
While the Sydney FC team is one chock full of stars, this year it has been their lesser well known players that have steered the Sky Blues into the finals. They include the likes of Renee Rollason, Teresa Polias and backline general Danielle Brogan.
Now with captain Heather Garriock out for the rest of the season, defender Brogan will stand in to lead Sydney for the rest of the W-League campaign.
